Today I made this bowl with tri-color quinoa, chick peas (cooked in tomato sauce), cherry tomatoes and chicken links. The tomato sauce does not have any salt. I decided to add chili powder into the tomato sauce with a pinch of garlic salt, parsley flakes and it was very tasty. 😋 Here are a few steps on how to make this bowl.
Prep time: 20-35 minutes
Preparation with ingrediants:
Onions - cut and dice your onions. Sautee with butter.
Chick Peas - drain most of the water in the can. Add leftover water from can with a little more water and any tomato sauce of your choice. Just enough so that it is thick. Cook for about 5-6 minutes to soften the chick peas. Add chili powder, garlic salt and parsley flakes. Cook for 2 more minutes.
Quinoa - Add 2 cups of water, bring to a boil. Add 1 cup of quinoa and salt. You can turn down the heat to medium and let the quinoa cook for about 15 minutes or until water is dried out.
Chicken links - these are frozen gluten free chicken links. I let them thaw for about 5 minutes and cooked them on a frying pan till they were brown.
Now grab a bowl, add the quinoa, chick peas, chicken links and cherry tomatoes. Enjoy your bowl!
